SOMATIC ESSENTIALS

Powerful practices to connect to your body to start regulating now.

Somatics Essentials are 4 powerful practices that will help you compassionately connect with your body and the powerful self healer that’s inside you – your True Self.

1 – Five Senses Practice

This practice provides a foundational and wonderful access to your somatic and embodied experience via your five senses. It can be very useful in bringing regulation, calm, presence and ease to your mindbody at any time. It can also be used as a preparatory practice for SPACE (available in Module 1), especially if you are feeling agitation or activation beforehand.

2 – True Self Practice

The ability to access and cultivate the observing capacity of your mind is crucial to all self healing work. It is by leveraging this capacity for observation and reflection that we begin to hone one of the most powerful aspects of self healing, your True Self. This practice pulls on ancient wisdom, modern neuroscience, and somatics to give you rapid access to your True Self and the profound healing it can provide.

3 – Somatic Awareness Practice

Soma means body, and somatics means “of the body.” A huge part of healing is about learning to reconnect with, listen to and speak the language of your body. This somatic awareness practice will gently and profoundly guide you back to the native soil of your body and help you connect with in a whole new way. This connection will be of vital importance in every technique you learn in the CFS School program.

4 – Qigong Practice

Qigong is an incredible somatic practice and can play a significant role in regulating and soothing the nervous system. This holistic exercise focuses on a gentle movement experience to promote restoration and a deeper connection with your body. This practice will help you shift your attention from the relentless pace of your thoughts to the sensations and rhythms of your body. This shift is crucial in calming the mind and reducing symptoms, which are often exacerbated by overthinking and underfeeling.
